Business with Financial Services (Top-up) BA(Hons)

Are you looking for a career in business or the financial services sector? Or, do you already know the basics but you want to build on your understanding to develop your skills and knowledge to degree level? This one-year top-up course gives you the chance to specialise in this area and gain some invaluable practical experience too.

This top-up degree course is designed to help you build a greater understanding of central banking, financial markets and regulatory practice. We’ll look at the theory and policy behind the financial services sector.

How will you learn?
You will learn through practical application and delivered lectures, workshops, seminars and group work sessions.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore the stock exchange and try your hand at investing, with our simulation trading tool ‘The Portfolio Game.’
During your studies we’ll focus on the role of strategic management in organisations.
You will get the chance to look at the key strategic management approaches that help managers deliver to their business objectives for both short term and long term scenarios.
What subjects will you cover?
You’ll explore subjects such as Business Responsibility and Sustainability, Strategy in Context, Investment and Portfolio Management and Monetary and Financial Framework.

PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry requirements for this course are normally one of the following:

HND Business or overseas equivalents (two years post baccalaureate) passed at 55% average
Successful completion of a foundation degree with 120 ECTS credits (or equivalent).
If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
