Electronic Engineering (Top-up) BEng(Hons)

We all use electronics every day. Electronic engineering helps to develop innovative new products and services to improve our lives and the environment. By gaining a qualification in electronic engineering, you could have some exciting career opportunities ahead of you.

This is a one-year top-up course and is ideal if you have already completed at least two years of university or Further Education study in a related subject. If you have a HND in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), for instance. If you also have an interest in technology and how technology can be applied and managed, then this STEM course could be for you. Unlike our other Electronic and Electrical Engineering courses, the Top Up route is not directly accredited by the IET, although graduates may subsequently apply for professional registration with the IET.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Entry requirements for this course are considered on an individual basis and are normally one of the following:

HND at Merit or equivalent in a related Science/Engineering/Technology subject.
Foundation Degree in a related Science/Engineering/Technology subject.
Completion of 2 years of a Degree course in a related Science/Engineering/Technology subject.
Your previous studies should be in a Physics or Engineering Science related area. Other Sciences may not be acceptable as they may not contain the relevant mathematical components that are an essential requirement for this course.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
