Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)
The nurse prepared at the baccalaureate level is a professional who has acquired a well-delineated and broad knowledge base for practice. The role of a baccalaureate graduate is multifaceted and developed through extensive study in the areas of liberal education, professional values, core competencies, core knowledge and role development. This knowledge base prepares the beginning baccalaureate graduate to function as a provider of direct and indirect care to individuals, families, groups, communities and populations.
The baccalaureate graduate is also a member of the profession and a designer, manager and coordinator of care. Additionally, the baccalaureate prepared nurse has a background in teaching, research and management skills which lays the foundation for leadership positions and graduate education.

Traditional BSN
The traditional BSN is for students with no prior nursing experience.
2nd Bachelors Degree Accelerated
The 2nd Bachelors Degree Accelerated option allows individuals who have earned a Bachelors Degree in another field the opportunity to complete the course of study for a BSN Degree in one year.
RN to BSN
The RN to BSN option is specially designed for registered nurses. The option features reduced nursing clinical hours, and clinical experiences are designed to accommodate individual learning goals. The length of study depends on previous college credits and courses needed to fulfill BSN requirements. Most RNs with an associate degree can complete the BSN program in two years of full-time study.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The College of Nursing and Health Professions School of Nursing requires a high level of proficiency in English so that all students will be able to fully meet academic and clinical objectives as well as meet criteria for professional licensure.
- Applicants whose primary language is not English or did not attend K-12 in the United States must demonstrate English language proficiency through the following tests:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 83 on the preferred internet-based test (iBT), 570 on the paper-based test, or 213 on the computer-based test.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of at least 6.5 and a spoken band score of 7.
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) with a score of 56.
- The TOEFL is available at the ASU Testing Center. When taking the exam off campus, the report code for A-State is 6011. All test scores are valid for two (2) years.
