PGDip Nursing (Adult)

Recognising the increasingly integrated nature of health service delivery, this postgraduate diploma meets the demand for highly employable nurses who can work with complex morbidities across the lifespan and within different settings. It enables qualified children’s, learning disability and mental health nurses, who have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, to undertake an additional professional role in adult nursing. Through access to practice learning opportunities, you will enhance your personal and professional values and beliefs and develop into a highly competent, resilient and empowered second registrant. You will graduate eligible to register as a qualified adult nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to help plan, coordinate and deliver care in a safe, compassionate and effective way.

The department has a close and effective relationship with the University’s dedicated Careers Centre. Careers workshops are also delivered in all three years of our degree programmes. These cover getting part-time work, volunteering, networking and applying for internships and graduate jobs.
Our Careers and Employability Week has been designed to help you make the jump from degree study to employment or further study. Content is delivered by department staff and the Careers Centre with assistance from E3i. In these sessions, you will learn about career planning, management and the world of work.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate Courses and PGCEs – entry requirements for Masters degrees and PGCEs usually ask for a degree which for some programmes may need to be in a relevant subject area and/or at a minimum award classification.
All applicants are required to have completed a Bachelor degree with a minimum result of 50% and above:
Bachelor degree in professional subjects (awarded from a central university, recognised state university or a centre of advanced studies)
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Honours) awarded from a central university or a recognised state university
Bachelor of Education (4 year integrated programme)
Bachelor of Engineering / of Technology ( awarded from an institute of national importance, centre of advanced study, or an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or the Indian Institute of Science)
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a law college approved by the India Bar Council
Bachelor of Science (Engineering) / Engineering / Technology when awarded from a central university, a recognised state university, or a regional Engineering college
