The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre degree provides students with a broad perspective in the theatre industry by offering classroom instruction in all phases of live theatre production. That instruction is reinforced by students' participation in every area of theatrical production and performance. The minimum hours needed to complete your BA in Theatre is 120 semester hours.

General Requirements
Majors must complete a minimum of 35 hours in Theatre, with six additional hours strongly recommended. A minimum of 12 Theatre hours must be advanced.
General education core curriculum and BA degree requirements must be met. Elective hours may be needed to reach the minimum number of hours for the degree.
All theatre majors are encouraged to participate in theatre production activities each semester and BA students must enroll in TH 2111 a minimum of two semesters.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Because ACT and SAT test scores are not required for 2022 entry terms, applicants ranked in the top 75% of their graduating class will be reviewed holistically.

When reviewing your application, Texas State will consider your high school curriculum, admission essay(s), extracurricular involvement, leadership, community service, work experience, quality and competitive level of courses taken and grades earned, in addition to other factors presented in your application.

We strongly encourage anyone who is not offered freshman admission to attend another college, complete 30 hours of transferable credit with a minimum GPA of a 2.25, and apply for transfer admission.
