Master of Professional Accounting (accelerated)
This professionally accredited program is designed to provide graduates of non-accounting disciplines with a broad-based accounting and business qualification to broaden their career prospects.
The Master of Professional Accounting is designed primarily for students from non-accounting backgrounds who want to develop an understanding of the technical and social dimensions in accounting and business. It is a broad-based qualification that combines core accounting studies with authentic learning experiences delivered through industry-informed work-integrating learning courses and global study experiences.
Through this combination of accounting studies and electives designed to develop valuable professional and cross-cultural skills, RMIT’s program is suited to current workers who have progressed into a role that requires accounting knowledge, as well as people contemplating a career in accounting for the first time.

- Working with senior managers on planning and disclosing social and environmental activities of the organisation
- Monitoring and reporting on the cash flow and financial resources of the organisation
- Preparing information for organisational strategies
- Preparing integrated reports for financial and sustainability reporting

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
You must have successfully completed:
- An Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in a Business (or a related) discipline) from a recognised tertiary institution*. OR
- The RMIT Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting^.
*Qualification must have been completed within the last 10 years.
^Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate you will have the opportunity to progress to the Master degree.
