Master of Urban Planning and Environment
Combining studies in urban planning and built environment with the social, economic, and political environment, this course equips you to shape efficient, practical, healthy, and sustainable cities.
Develop skills in critical analysis and draw from diverse sources to engage in professionally relevant projects, conduct research, and promote effective policy outcomes.
Students who complete accredited planning courses will be eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia .
This course is offered online and face-to face. The course is primarily taught through evening classes during the week, with some topics delivered through intensive full-day workshops. All core topics and some electives are offered online.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- You must have successfully completed an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline with a minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 (out of 4.0).
- You may also be considered if you have significant work experience or professional practice.
- Statement and CV: If you are applying on the basis of work experience, you must provide a CV and direct applicant statement detailing your experience.
