Study in Cyprus

Cyprus is recognized as one of the cheapest European countries where international students can study.

Cyprus has both public and private universities, with many local, regional, and international partnerships. Some of the universities offer dual degree options with institutions in the UK, US, and EU.

These universities have international recognition and accreditation and offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses.

Most prospective students are offered flexible admission criteria. As such, most universities will admit students based primarily on grades and a test of their English proficiency:

Accepted English tests

• IELTS (5.5-6.5), TOEFL, or institutional English proficiency tests.
• Some universities will waive the English requirement if all prior education is in English.

Most universities in Cyprus have two main intakes:

• Fall Intake (September/October)
• Spring Intake (February/March)

Some universities may also offer continuous admissions. There are many scholarship opportunities, particularly from private universities, such as:

Students from outside the EU/EEA must obtain a student visa to study in Cyprus. The process is usually:

• Letter of acceptance from a Cypriot university
• Proof of sufficient funds
• Valid travel documents (passport)
• Health insurance
• Clean Police report
• Visa application made through the Cyprus embassy / consulate

Following your arrival as a student in Cyprus, you must register with the Migration department to obtain your temporary residence permit.
