GRE

The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is a standardized test to measure applicants’ quantitative, verbal and analytical writing skills. It is generally used by graduate schools and certain business schools to assess their competency. It is for students who plan to study in the USA after graduation. It is a compulsory test for those wishing to pursue a Master’s degree in the USA. It is also required for a PhD. in the USA with 100% scholarship. However, there are certain universities in Canada and Europe, which also require GRE.

GRE is designed, developed and administered by the educational testing services (ETS) headquartered in USA, which conducts the test under the sponsorship of Graduate Records Examinations Board.

GRE can be taken 5 times in a calendar year with a minimum gap of 21 days in between two tests. The score of GRE is valid for five years.

GMAT

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a computer adaptive test used for admissions into MBA and specialized Masters Programs, along with certain PhD programs. It is conducted to assess applicants’ foundations for success in that program. GMAT scores provide a common benchmark and are used to compare the credentials of candidates from varying backgrounds.

All business schools in USA accept GMAT scores for applications and is a part of the application process for admission in MBA colleges. Apart from the US, many top universities in Europe, Asia, Canada and Australia also accept GMAT scores.

The test is designed, developed and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), headquartered in the USA and can be taken 5 times in a calendar year with a minimum gap of 16 days between two tests.

TOEFL

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL®) is one of the most widely respected English-language tests in the world. It measures a non-native English speaker’s communication ability and is most commonly used for admissions into high schools, graduate, post-graduate and PhD programs.

It is conducted by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and assesses the applicant’s English speaking, reading, listening and writing skills. TOEFL scores are accepted by over 10,000 universities and other institutions in more than 150 countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K., the United States, and all across Europe and Asia.

TOEFL is conducted 48 times in a year and the score is valid for two years.

IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is one of the English-proficiency tests and the scores are widely accepted by top universities and institutions abroad. It is specially designed to assess the English language skills of non-native speakers of English.

It is jointly administered by the British Council, IDP and Cambridge ESOL examinations. To study abroad, IELTS academic is conducted and for immigration visa applications, IELTS general is held. The scores are later used by employers and educational institutions for hiring and admissions, respectively.

Applicants can either opt for the Internet-based Test (IBT) or the conventional paper-based test. It assesses all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking, where speaking is done on a face-to-face interview with an examiner

SAT

The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a college admission test recognized globally for measuring students’ knowledge of reading, writing and math. To apply into the top universities in the United States one requires a high SAT score. A new format of SAT was recently launched and we are glad to announce that Global Reach in association with Kaplan is all set to prepare you for it!

SAT is a multiple choice admission test with a few numeric entry questions and it is mandatory for students even in the USA who want to pursue undergraduate programs. It is based on real world questions or problems preparing for their studies at colleges.

It is designed, developed and conducted by College Board, a non-profit organisation, and is held six times in a year during October, November, December, January, May and June. Students can appear for it all 6 times in a calendar year.
