General English
UOW College offers five levels of General English for beginner, elementary, intermediate and upper-intermediate English language students.
English Studies 1, 2, and 3 provides students with the language they need in the real world, including language for work, study, travel and international communication. Grammar and vocabulary are set within real life situations and reading and writing tasks are designed to practise new language.
In English Studies 4 and 5 the course focuses on speaking fluently and improving listening and comprehension skills in a wide range of social, professional and academic situations. Language skills are developed within a wide range of high-interest topics with an international and business perspective.
There are 20 hours of formal lessons per week and the duration is 6-48 weeks. Supervised study in the Multimedia Centre is available, as well as grammar support classes. Students may enrol in English Studies 4 and 5 for a minimum of two weeks and may commence any Monday.
