Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Visual Arts (EA)

The Department of Visual Arts at Western University offers three areas of study: Art History; Museum and Curatorial Studies; & Studio Art. Learn in small classrooms and gain hands-on experience in your chosen field. In addition to lectures, seminars, and studio courses these programs are complemented by experiential learning opportunities including practicums, internships and field trips to art galleries, museums, heritage sites, and cultural institutions.

PSW Opportunity

If your program was less than 8 months

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

If you started a university program at another accredited school, and you want to finish your degree at Western, you are considered a university transfer student.

You’ll need: 

  • A minimum overall average of 70% (around a B- or 2.7 GPA) as calculated by Western in all previous university studies (equivalent).
  • To have experienced no extensive academic difficulty at university 
  • Proof of English Language proficiency, if English isn’t your first language
  • Specific requirements for your program

Fine Arts: Studio
- Online Portfolio and Personal Statement (Required)
   Deadline: February 15, 2025

School for Advanced Studies in Arts & Humanities
- Statement of Interest (Required)
  Deadline: February 28, 2025

All Other Arts & Humanities Programs
- No Supplemental Requirements
