GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN DATA SCIENCE
The Graduate Certificate in Data Science provides students with a solid understanding of the knowledge and skills of data science methods, tools and fundamental concepts. Students with a Bachelor degree are eligible to apply for this degree. The Bachelor degree is not required to be related to data science, mathematics, IT or computer science. This course allows students to undertake a specialised sequence of units so that they can upskill or refresh their professional data science knowledge, or prepare to become a professional moving into a career in the data science. By completing this course, students will acquire basic but essential knowledge and skills in data science, creating a solid foundation to continue their progression into the data science industry, or to further study for a Graduate Diploma or Masters degree in data science. Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate, students may choose to further progress to higher-level courses in data science, IT or computer science. ?

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
English language proficiency
- IELTS Academic - A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each subtest; or
- PTE Academic - A minimum result of 58 overall and a minimum result of 50 in each subtest; or
- TOEFL IBT score - A minimum result of 79 overall including a minimum result of 21 in Writing, 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening and 18 in Speaking; o
- TOEFL PBT score - A minimum result of 550 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
The results of the English Test must be valid and the test should have been taken no more than 3 years prior to the commencement of the program at SPI
