PSYCHOLOGY AND CRIMINOLOGY BSc (Hons)
Psychology and Criminology are fascinating academic disciplines, opening doors to a wide range of careers after graduation where you can have a real impact on society. You'll be taught by expert staff who are conducting influential studies into areas of psychology such as mental health and wellbeing, compassion and mindfulness, autism and maths anxiety.
Our Criminology staff have a growing international profile for shaping understanding and practice in the criminal justice sector. Their research projects cover everything from drug use, hate crime and human trafficking to psychopathy, organised crime and witness reliability.
During this course you’ll have guest lectures by world-class researchers, conduct your own research and be able to contribute to cutting-edge psychological research projects at the University. You’ll be encouraged to think creatively, challenge established beliefs and develop your own research interests. Our emphasis on problem-based learning means you will be well equipped to meet the real-world challenges you will face in your future career.

If you want to become a Psychologist or progress to Postgraduate study in Psychology, we advise that you major in Psychology including all prescribed credit bearing modules. This means you will receive accreditation from the British Psychological Society.
In the rapidly changing and dynamic criminology sector, studying Criminology offers you the opportunity to develop a valuable set of skills, from research and analysis to entrepreneurial thinking, which are attractive to a wide range of employers.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
FOR INDIA
- Students with a minimum average of 65% in the Standard XII/Intermediate/Higher Secondary Examination can typically be considered for direct entrance to Bachelor degree programmes
- Students with a minimum score of 60% in the Certificate of General Nursing and Midwifery from State Nursing Boards or Councils can be considered for entrance to the second year of a related degree programme.
English
- Academic or UKVI IELTS no older than 2 years and must meet the requirement of the course of study.
- Cambridge IGCSE English with Grade C
- Completion of UK degree in the UK within the past two years.
For most of our programmes at bachelors degree level and above, you will normally need an IELTS score of between 6.0 and 7.0 with a pre-requisite minimum score in all areas. (speaking, reading, writing and listening). We will accept one of the alternative equivalent qualifications below:
Oxford English Language Level Test (ELLT)
Pearson Test of Academic English
TOEFL iBT Overall score of 79 - 100 (with specific minimum score requirements for each component)
LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B2 – C1
Michigan English Assessment Battery (MELAB)
Michigan Test: Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE)
Cambridge English Scale: B2 – C1
International GCE O Level English Language: Grade C
International GCSE English or English as a Second Language: Grade C
We also accept a number of qualifications from other countries as evidence of English Language proficiency, e.g. WAEC, KCSE or 1119 so please check our international entry requirements for each country.
