This course prepares you for a broad range of roles where you can improve the life experiences of individuals with special learning needs. You’ll build the skills and knowledge to support children and adults with diverse needs, such as specific learning difficulties, physical disabilities, behavioural problems and sensory impairments.

Job Opportunity Potential
Our BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs and Disability degree prepares you for a wide range of careers in the SEND sector, including family liaison, advocacy, inclusion support, teaching assistance, mentoring, adult education and careers services.
You could also take your skills and knowledge to the next level by progressing to postgraduate study in areas such as health, psychological services and social care.
Please note that this course does not lead to Qualified Teacher Status. However, if you’d like to train to be a teacher, you will be guaranteed an interview for our PGCE Primary if you meet the entry requirements.
PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
FOR INDIA
- Students with a minimum average of 65% in the Standard XII/Intermediate/Higher Secondary Examination can typically be considered for direct entrance to Bachelor degree programmes
- Students with a minimum score of 60% in the Certificate of General Nursing and Midwifery from State Nursing Boards or Councils can be considered for entrance to the second year of a related degree programme.
English
- Academic or UKVI IELTS no older than 2 years and must meet the requirement of the course of study.
- Cambridge IGCSE English with Grade C
- Completion of UK degree in the UK within the past two years.
For most of our programmes at bachelors degree level and above, you will normally need an IELTS score of between 6.0 and 7.0 with a pre-requisite minimum score in all areas. (speaking, reading, writing and listening). We will accept one of the alternative equivalent qualifications below:
Oxford English Language Level Test (ELLT)
Pearson Test of Academic English
TOEFL iBT Overall score of 79 - 100 (with specific minimum score requirements for each component)
LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B2 – C1
Michigan English Assessment Battery (MELAB)
Michigan Test: Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE)

International GCE O Level English Language: Grade C
