Early Years Education and Professional Practice with Early Years Practitioner Status (EYPS) - BA (Hons)

Within these programs, you will earn qualified Early Years Practitioner Status (EYPS), gaining practical work-based experience combined with theoretical and policy-based knowledge as well as the transferable skills required for effective Early Years practice, including the management of Early Years settings. The program has been developed in direct response to changes in Early Years provision within Wales and the UK to provide well-qualified early childhood specialists working with young children and their families.

A fundamental aspect of the degree is the 700 hours of assessed practice-based experience that you will complete in order to gain EYPS. This is made up of a weekly placement during each year of your study in a range of relevant settings such as infant classrooms, private nurseries, integrated children’s centers, and day-care facilities. As part of your degree, you will also spend time in our campus-based Forest School provision, where you will be able to gain first-hand experience of this dynamic approach to early education. In addition, you will also have an opportunity to spend time in our MiniMets room which has been developed to allow you to experience excellence in practice through practical sessions.

Job Opportunity Potential

Employability skills are generated both through experience in work-based placements; within the teaching and learning environment and through a range of community engagement projects. In addition to the programme, you will have opportunities to further develop your knowledge, skills and experience. For example, we provide additional opportunities to gain accreditation in Forest School and NSPCC qualifications within two course modules.

Our graduates access a range of jobs and employment opportunities including further study in education via the Post Graduate Certificate in Education or Graduate Teacher Programme. PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

For India

Students with good grades in their Polytechnic / College of Technology Diploma (3- to 4-years in duration).
OR
Students with good grades in their Indian Certificate of Education - awarded on completion of Standard X AND who have completed a recognised Foundation Course.
OR
Students with good grades in their Higher Secondary School Certificates - Indian School Certificate (ISC) / Intermediate Certificate / Higher School Certificate / Higher Secondary Certificate / All India Senior School Certificate / Pre-University Course - awarded on completion of Standard XII

For Bangladesh

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Intermediate with GPA 4.0 plus IELTS of 6.0 will be considered for Year 1 entry
A-Levels or International Baccalaureate
American High School Diploma with GPA 3.0 (grade B average) plus one of the following:
- SAT 1 combined score of 1800 or above and a 6 score in the essay
- ACT (American College Test) score of 20 or above
- Advanced Placement Tests (Aps) with grade 3 or above in at least two relevant subjects

For Pakistan

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Intermediate in Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical stream with 60% pass

Students with good grades in their Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (Advanced level).

who have completed a recognised Foundation Course.
OR
Students who hold a Diploma in Social Work / Higher National Diploma (HND) / Advanced Diploma in Social Work.

For Nepal

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Intermediate 60% pass.
