Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science)
The Bachelor of Applied Science / Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Exercise and Sport Science) develops the skills to integrate exercise and physical activity with disease prevention and the promotion of good health, rehabilitation, nutrition, and sports performance.
This degree is an exciting and diverse combined degree, offering the opportunity to develop your skills as an exercise scientist with the benefit of experience from advanced coursework and a community, industry, research, or entrepreneurship project. You will also complete a major from the shared pool creating a study profile that reflects your expertise in a range of disciplines.

Campus Information
Camperdown/Darlington
From terrace houses to idyllic studios, traditional housing options to dorm style accommodation or living in one of the many off campus facilities, find your place away from home. There are two main kinds of accommodation on Camperdown/Darlington campus: University residences and residential colleges.
Cumberland
Located in Lidcombe, the heart of Sydney’s sprawling greater west, Cumberland campus is home to the Sydney School of Health Sciences. Campus facilities include a large health sciences library, specialized laboratories, health clinics and state-of-the-art sports science education facilities. The Cumberland Student Guild manages all non-academic services on campus, including a food court, bookstore and shopping outlets. The University intends to move the Sydney School of Health Sciences from its current location in Cumberland to new facilities on the Camperdown/Darlington campus in 2021. PSW Opportunity
Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
- You are expected to have studied the following subjects in high school to succeed in this course:
- Mathematics Advanced or higher
- Chemistry
- Inherent requirements are the essential tasks and activities necessary to be able to achieve the core learning outcomes of a course.
Before applying, it is important for you to read and fully understand the inherent requirements for this course.
English Language Requirements :
- IELTS score A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
- TOEFL - IBT score A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
- Pearsons Test of English A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
