B.S. Marketing and Business Education
UW-Stout's Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Education (MBE) offers a program for the on-campus student. Graduates of this program enjoy career flexibility across education, training and business career pathways. Program curriculum satisfies teaching licensure requirements as well as develops depth in the technical subjects of business, marketing or both — depending on the student's selected program of study.

Our Marketing and Business Education program combines general education studies with marketing and business technical courses and professional education courses. You will be ready for employment opportunities in both education and business settings. As a MBE program graduate you will be prepared to teach within middle and high school classrooms.

The disciplines of marketing and business contribute significantly to the intellectual and career development of students in an age of innovation and invention. Graduates of the program will be prepared to teach in middle and secondary classrooms. Graduates are also prepared to enter careers in business and industry that expand on their real-world experience.
The program is also offered with a distance option for geographically bound students seeking teacher certification.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The English proficiency requirement may be waived for applicants from English-speaking countries. This will be determined by the Admissions Office after you have applied.
Ways to show evidence of English proficiency:
- Official TOEFL score: Minimum iBT (or MyBest) score of 70, or minimum paper-based score of 525.
- Official IELTS score, or IELTS One Skill Retake: Minimum score of 6.0
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): Minimum score of 48
- Duolingo English Test (DET):
- Minimum score of 115 overall (minimum sub/sectional scores of 90 or higher)
- UW-Stout's English as a Second Language Institute (ESLI) will require that students who submit Duolingo English Test scores:
- complete additional testing conducted by the ESLI, and
- enroll in additional ESL courses, as applicable.
- Successful completion of UW-Stout's English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
- Earned transfer credit from a regionally accredited school equivalent to UW-Stout's English 101, with a grade of C or higher.
