Media, Promotional Culture and Advertising BA(Hons)

Our degree in Media, Promotional Culture and Advertising will give you the technical, creative and analytical skills needed to succeed in the rapidly developing promotional industries. It will give you the tools to examine media examples and an understanding of how media industries are funded, learn techniques in which to conduct audience and market research, and think about the role of public relations in society. You will learn to write advertising copy and press releases, make and distribute promotional videos, and manage social media accounts.

Queensgate

The university's main campus, Queensgate, is south-east of Huddersfield town centre. Virtually all of the university's teaching takes place on the site. The campus is split in two by the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. It features a mixture of converted mill buildings, and purpose-built facilities

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

BBC at A Level  

112 UCAS tariff points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications

DMM in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits at Merit or above
112 UCAS tariff points from International Baccalaureate qualifications.
Applicants with prior learning or prior experiential learning will be considered individually by the School of Music, Humanities and Media Accreditation and Validation Panel, to assess whether it is appropriate to grant general or specific credit towards the course.

Applications from international students will be considered on an individual basis, and with advice from the University's International Office.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
