Nursing (Adult) BSc(Hons)
Whether you’d like to provide care for adults in community or acute settings, this innovative nursing degree is designed to provide a great foundation for your future career. Regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), with strong partnerships with NHS Trusts, private and voluntary organisations, as well as teaching and support from experienced lecturers, practice supervisors and assessors, this course could be a great place for you to take the first steps towards making a huge difference to people’s everyday lives.
Supported by a team who really understand what it’s like to be an adult nurse, you’ll learn through lectures, seminars, group work, simulation and role play.
You'll have opportunity to learn key clinical skills and engage in simulation-based learning within a safe environment utilising human patient simulators to enhance your confidence, competence and understanding of patient care.
You’ll undertake clinical placements throughout the course in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, in the community, as well as voluntary and private sectors.
You’ll have the opportunity to hear the experiences and viewpoints from service users and carers, who are part of the Public Partnership Group.
You’ll also learn how to respond to the physical, cognitive and mental health care needs of all patients and service users across their lifespan.
The course aims to help you become a confident, competent, caring and compassionate nurse. From day one, you’ll get the opportunity to learn in a supportive, forward-thinking and well-connected environment. You’ll explore all aspects of nursing, from the fundamentals of providing care to more advanced topics such as complex needs, and leadership and management. You'll develop a range of specialist skills including communication, decision-making, team working and upholding professional values, as well as practical and theoretical skills in order to help and achieve your full potential as an adult nurse and meet the NMC Standards.

The university's main campus, Queensgate, is south-east of Huddersfield town centre. Virtually all of the university's teaching takes place on the site. The campus is split in two by the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. It features a mixture of converted mill buildings, and purpose-built facilities

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

DDM in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
NCFE CACHE Technical Level 3 Extended Diploma/Level 3 Extended Diploma at Grade B.
Pass Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits, 15 at Distinction, 30 at Merit.
In addition, you must have completed 12 years of general education and have GCSE English Language or English Literature and Maths at grade 4 or above, or grade C or above if awarded under the previous GCSE grading scheme, or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English.
You must demonstrate that you have a broad understanding of adult nursing, as well as relevant work experience (employment or voluntary) highlighting your transferable skills.

You also need satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and occupational health clearances prior to registration on the course. We arrange these as part of the application process. You will be required to sign a self-declaration at the start of each year and at the end of the course. All police contact during the course must be reported to the course leader as a matter of urgency and may lead to suspension or termination
You may be eligible to gain accreditation for your prior learning towards this course. Please note that the course you are applying for is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) which allows a maximum of 50% of credits for the award to be conferred through accreditation of prior learning.
