Interior Design, B.S.F.C.S
Interior design majors take courses in the creative arts including design theory, art history, architecture and interiors, as well as technology, business, liberal arts and oral, written and graphic communication.
Graduates from our CIDA (Council of Interior Design Accreditation) accredited interior design program are qualified for careers helping others improve interior environments while expressing their own creative abilities. Students gain skills and knowledge in ideation and concept development, materials and construction, life safety codes, accessibility and business practices. Graduates are academically prepared to take the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) examination, which must be passed to register as an interior designer in Texas and many other states.
Students are required to pass a Proficiency Review after completing their first 18 credit hours of interior design and art courses. Information regarding Proficiency Review can be found on the Proficiency review.
