Computer Engineering

As computers spread widely, the utilization of computers expanded to every home, not to mention the national public institutions, research institutes, companies and universities, to improve productivity and rationalization. In addition, the computer communications, with the internet as the center, are integrated with several multimedia technologies on various devices, and are bringing great changes on our daily lives. In order to train professionals to play pivotal roles in such changes, the department of computer engineering provides curriculums prioritized on key theories of computer engineering and science and profound programming practice, educating ready-to-work talents in the industrial sites based on wide range of professional knowledge. The department was established in 1979 and since then, over 2500 graduates till 2008 has contributed hugely on the development of computer engineering technology and software development in many leading academics at home and abroad, research institutes, companies, public organizations and governments. The department received the Next Project Support by the Ministry of Information from 2007 to 2011 so that the practice environment is dramatically improved, and using that it is managing SCJP and SCWCD license program in cooperation with Sun Microsystems. Moreover, by Japan IT aligned employment course, it is helping the overseas employment of the graduates. Especially, collaborating with domestic industries and research institutes, the Capstone project, Future design project and internships are taking places, so that the students are able to find their careers while acquiring practical professional skills.
